The particularity of Kythera is that you feel like being on a piece of land cut-off from the mainland and traveling in the middle of the sea.

Kythera is an island full of mystery. What less can you expect from an island that is rumored to be Venus’ birthplace, the secret refuge of notorious pirate Barbarossa, location of many ships wreckage, a piece of land in between the Aegean and the Ionian sea?

The particularity of Kythera is that you actually feel like being on a piece of land cut-off from the mainland and travelling in the middle of the sea. This is because the Chora and all the villages are sitting on a plateau from where you have to go down in order to approach the sea. From almost everywhere, the view is breathtaking. The island features a variety of landscapes.
